Professional Disclosures

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Embodied Illumination brings together psychotherapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation and integration, professional consultation, supervision, education, coaching, and community-based learning.

Because these services carry different professional, legal, and ethical boundaries, we believe it is important to be clear about who is providing a service, the professional role they are occupying, and the scope within which that work is offered.

This page provides general information about those distinctions. Clients receiving psychotherapy or other regulated clinical services will receive additional informed-consent and professional disclosure documents specific to their care.

Clinical leadership

Lyndsey Ryan, MA, LPC, LAC, ACS is the Founder and Chief Clinical Vision Officer of Embodied Illumination.

Lyndsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor in the State of Colorado and holds the Approved Clinical Supervisor credential.

Her clinical work includes trauma psychotherapy, developmental and complex trauma, attachment, chronic illness and medical trauma, addiction, somatic and nervous system-informed care, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation and integration, and clinical supervision and consultation.

Licensure may be verified through the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Professional credentials indicate training, licensure, and scope of practice. They do not guarantee a particular treatment outcome.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy through Embodied Illumination is provided only by appropriately licensed mental health professionals and within the geographic locations in which those professionals are legally permitted to practice.

For Lyndsey Ryan, psychotherapy is currently available to clients physically located in Colorado at the time services are provided.

Psychotherapy may include relational, attachment-focused, somatic, trauma-informed, contemplative, EMDR-informed, Internal Family Systems-informed, and psychedelic-assisted approaches depending on the needs of the client and the agreed-upon treatment plan.

The therapeutic relationship, treatment goals, fees, confidentiality, communication practices, recordkeeping, emergency procedures, and other aspects of care are addressed more fully through informed consent before psychotherapy begins.

Submitting a website inquiry, scheduling an introductory consultation, or exchanging preliminary emails does not by itself establish a therapist-client relationship.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy

Embodied Illumination provides the psychotherapeutic components of ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, which may include clinical assessment, preparation, therapeutic support, somatic and attachment-focused work, and integration.

Ketamine is a prescription medication. Prescribing, medical eligibility, dosing, medical monitoring, and other medical decisions are the responsibility of an appropriately licensed medical provider.

Embodied Illumination does not independently prescribe ketamine unless a qualified prescribing professional is specifically identified as part of the care team.

Participation in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy requires individualized clinical and medical screening. Ketamine carries potential risks and is not appropriate for every person.

No particular psychological, medical, or functional outcome can be guaranteed.

Psychedelic preparation + integration

Embodied Illumination offers preparation and integration services within the applicable professional scope of the person providing them.

Preparation may include exploration of intentions, expectations, trauma and attachment history, nervous system capacity, support systems, psychological readiness, and harm-reduction considerations.

Integration may include reflection on emotional, somatic, relational, psychological, spiritual, or meaning-related material that emerges from a psychedelic experience.

Embodied Illumination does not provide, sell, distribute, or assist clients in obtaining illegal psychedelic substances.

Preparation or integration services should not be interpreted as an endorsement of unlawful activity, a recommendation to use a particular substance, or a guarantee that a psychedelic experience will be safe or beneficial.

When medical or psychiatric evaluation is indicated, clients may be referred to an appropriately licensed healthcare professional.

Colorado natural medicine

Colorado law has created a regulated framework for certain natural medicine services.

Psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation and integration, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and regulated natural medicine facilitation are distinct professional activities and may involve different licenses, scopes, facilities, and legal requirements.

Embodied Illumination will describe any regulated natural medicine services according to the licenses and authorizations actually held at the time those services are offered.

Information on this website about psychedelic medicine, natural medicine, or emerging programs should not be interpreted as representing that a service is currently licensed or available unless the website expressly states that it is.

Coaching

Some Embodied Illumination services may be offered as coaching rather than psychotherapy.

Coaching may support reflection, education, professional development, integration, goal-setting, or personal growth within an appropriate nonclinical scope.

Coaching does not establish a psychotherapy relationship and is not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment of a mental health condition, medical care, psychiatric care, or crisis services.

When a service is coaching, the provider will identify that role clearly.

A provider who also holds a mental health license does not automatically create a psychotherapy relationship by offering coaching. The nature of the professional relationship is determined by the service being contracted and the applicable scope of practice.

Clinical supervision

Lyndsey Ryan, LPC, LAC, ACS provides clinical supervision and professional consultation within areas of competence and applicable regulatory requirements.

Supervision may include attention to clinical formulation, ethics, professional development, trauma and attachment, somatic processes, psychedelic-informed care, countertransference, scope of practice, and complex case material.

Supervisees remain responsible for understanding the licensure requirements that apply to their own professional pathway and for ensuring that supervision meets the requirements of the relevant licensing board.

Supervision offered through Embodied Illumination does not imply endorsement of conduct outside a supervisee's legal or professional scope.

Professional consultation

Clinical consultation is available to independently practicing clinicians and other professionals seeking support with cases, professional judgment, psychedelic-informed care, ethics, referral decisions, or related areas of practice.

Consultation does not transfer responsibility for a client's care to Embodied Illumination or to the consultant.

The treating professional remains responsible for clinical decisions, documentation, informed consent, scope of practice, legal compliance, and continuity of care.

Consultants can help expand perspective and clinical discernment; they do not assume the role of treating provider unless a separate clinical relationship is established directly with the client.

Education + training

Embodied Illumination offers educational programming for clinicians, facilitators, coaches, organizations, and other helping professionals.

Educational content may address trauma, attachment, embodiment, nervous system processes, psychedelic medicine, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, preparation and integration, ethics, professional development, supervision, referral literacy, and related topics.

Training and educational materials are intended to support professional learning.

Completion of a course, workshop, consultation group, or educational program does not independently authorize a participant to practice psychotherapy, medicine, psychedelic facilitation, or any other regulated profession.

Participants remain responsible for practicing within their own education, competence, credentials, professional ethics, and applicable law.

When continuing education credit or another formal credential is available, that status will be stated specifically for the offering.

The Encounter Lab + professional community

The Encounter Lab and other community-based professional offerings may include case discussion, reflective practice, professional dialogue, experiential learning, and exploration of clinical or relational themes.

Participation in these spaces does not create a therapist-client relationship between participants and Embodied Illumination.

When case material is discussed, participants are expected to protect client privacy and follow the confidentiality, ethical, and legal requirements governing their own professional practice.

Professional community spaces are designed for learning, reflection, and connection and do not replace formal clinical supervision when supervision is required.

Firekeeper

Embodied Illumination uses the term Firekeeper to describe a philosophy of professional presence within transformative healing work.

It refers to qualities such as relational presence, humility, discernment, self-awareness, respect for autonomy, ethical responsibility, and thoughtful tending of the conditions surrounding vulnerable or altered states.

Firekeeper is not a state-issued license, certification, or regulated professional credential.

Use of the term does not expand a practitioner's legal scope of practice or authorize the provision of psychotherapy, medicine, psychedelic facilitation, or other regulated services.

Medical information

Information on this website about ketamine, psychedelics, trauma, chronic illness, the nervous system, mental health, or other health-related topics is provided for general educational purposes.

Website content does not constitute individualized medical advice, psychiatric advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Decisions involving medication, medical conditions, contraindications, or changes in treatment should be made with an appropriately licensed healthcare professional who can evaluate your individual circumstances.

Information about psychedelic medicine

Psychedelic science and regulation continue to evolve.

Embodied Illumination aims to present this work carefully and responsibly while recognizing that research findings, laws, professional standards, and regulatory frameworks may change.

Discussion of a medicine, intervention, study, or therapeutic approach on this website does not constitute a recommendation for any particular individual.

Psychedelic experiences can involve psychological, medical, relational, and contextual risks. Appropriate screening, informed consent, ethical care, preparation, support, and integration matter.

Professional boundaries + dual roles

Embodied Illumination includes professionals who may work in more than one role, including clinician, supervisor, consultant, educator, coach, advisor, author, or community leader.

When more than one potential role exists, the nature of the professional relationship should be clarified before services begin.

We make efforts to identify boundaries, expectations, confidentiality, and scope so that the role being offered remains understandable to the person receiving the service.

Confidentiality

Psychotherapy communications are generally confidential and are protected subject to applicable law and recognized exceptions.

Specific limits to confidentiality are explained through the informed-consent process for clinical clients.

Supervision, consultation, coaching, educational programming, professional communities, and general website communications may carry different confidentiality protections.

Participants should not assume that every Embodied Illumination interaction carries the same legal privilege or confidentiality protections as psychotherapy.

Records

Clinical records are maintained according to applicable professional, ethical, and legal requirements.

Colorado law requires mental health professionals to provide clients with information concerning record retention and recognizes that records may not be maintained indefinitely.

Specific recordkeeping practices are described in the clinical informed-consent and professional disclosure materials provided when treatment begins.

Emergencies + crisis care

Embodied Illumination does not provide 24-hour emergency or crisis services.

Website forms, email, voicemail, coaching, consultation, and educational programs should not be used for urgent safety needs.

If you are experiencing an immediate medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

In the United States, you may call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Colorado residents may also access available statewide crisis resources.

Website inquiries

Information submitted through the website is reviewed for the purpose of responding to inquiries and helping determine an appropriate next step.

Sending an inquiry does not guarantee acceptance into psychotherapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, supervision, coaching, training, or another Embodied Illumination service.

A service relationship begins only after the appropriate screening, agreements, informed consent, and other required steps have been completed.

Outcomes + testimonials

Human healing is highly individual.

Embodied Illumination does not guarantee that psychotherapy, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation or integration, coaching, supervision, education, or another service will produce a specific result.

If testimonials, case examples, or descriptions of individual experiences appear on this website, they should be understood as illustrations of individual experience rather than predictions of what another person will experience.

Clinical case material used for education, writing, or professional learning is handled with attention to privacy, consent, and appropriate de-identification or compositing practices.

Current information

Professional licensure, program availability, personnel, scope, regulation, and service structures can change.

We make reasonable efforts to keep this website current. If website information differs from a signed informed-consent document, service agreement, professional disclosure statement, or other governing document provided directly to you, the terms of the applicable signed agreement generally govern that professional relationship.

Questions about a particular service or professional role are welcome.
