Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Embodied Illumination is committed to creating a website and digital experience that is as accessible, usable, and welcoming as possible.

We recognize that people move through the world with different bodies, nervous systems, sensory needs, technologies, communication styles, and access requirements. We want the information and resources on this website to be available in ways that support a wide range of users.

Accessibility is an ongoing practice. As the website grows and our offerings evolve, we continue reviewing how people interact with the site and where barriers may still exist.

Our approach

We aim to make www.embodiedillumination.org easier to navigate, understand, and use across different devices and assistive technologies.

Our accessibility efforts may include attention to:

  • Clear heading structure

  • Readable typography and spacing

  • Sufficient color contrast

  • Alternative text for meaningful images

  • Keyboard-friendly navigation

  • Descriptive links and buttons

  • Consistent page structure

  • Mobile responsiveness

  • Reduced reliance on visual information alone

  • Clear language and predictable navigation

  • Accessible forms where possible

  • Thoughtful use of motion, animation, and visual effects

We also aim to design with sensory experience in mind, particularly around dense visual content, contrast, movement, and page complexity.

Assistive technology

This website is intended to work with commonly used browsers, devices, screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other assistive technologies.

Because websites rely on a combination of our own design, Squarespace infrastructure, browser technology, third-party integrations, and user devices, accessibility may vary across different systems.

We continue to make improvements where possible.

Images + visual content

Embodied Illumination uses photography, symbolic imagery, and visual design as part of the experience of the site.

Where an image conveys meaningful information, we aim to provide appropriate alternative text or another accessible way to understand its content.

Some decorative images may intentionally have minimal or empty alternative text so they do not create unnecessary repetition for screen-reader users.

Video + audio

When video, audio, recorded education, or media content is offered, we aim to provide captions, transcripts, written summaries, or other accessible alternatives when reasonably possible.

Availability may vary depending on the format, platform, and source of the content.

If you encounter a recording or media resource that is difficult to access, please contact us and we will do our best to identify an alternative format.

Forms + communication

We aim to make website forms understandable and usable.

If a contact form, registration process, or other online feature creates an access barrier, you are welcome to contact us through another available method.

You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or medical condition in order to request an accessibility accommodation.

Professional education + events

Accessibility needs may also arise in workshops, trainings, supervision, consultation, community gatherings, or other Embodied Illumination programs.

Whenever possible, we welcome advance requests related to access needs such as:

  • Captioning

  • Written materials

  • Alternative document formats

  • Sensory considerations

  • Mobility access

  • Breaks or pacing

  • Communication access

  • Virtual participation options

  • Other reasonable accommodations

The accommodations available will depend on the specific setting, format, venue, and nature of the program.

We encourage participants to reach out early when possible so there is time to understand what would be helpful.

Clinical services

Accessibility in psychotherapy and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy can include more than physical access.

We recognize that sensory environment, communication style, pacing, mobility, neurodivergence, chronic illness, fatigue, pain, disability, and other lived realities can shape a person’s ability to participate in care.

When a clinical relationship is being considered, you are welcome to discuss access needs as part of the consultation process.

We will make reasonable efforts to understand what supports participation within the limits of the setting, scope of service, safety requirements, and applicable law.

Third-party platforms

Some Embodied Illumination services may rely on third-party platforms for scheduling, payments, video conferencing, forms, educational content, or other functions.

We do not control every accessibility feature of these external systems.

If a third-party platform creates a barrier, please let us know. Where reasonably possible, we will explore another way to provide the information or service.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices continue to evolve.

Embodied Illumination reviews its website and digital content over time and may make updates as we identify opportunities to improve usability and access.

We welcome feedback from people who encounter barriers.
